Bill - what's Harry Z.'s status? Is he still with the team? Any idea which forward he was called up to possibly replace? Thanks.

EDIT: Might have just answered my own question. Flyers web site roster page list Harry Z., but does not list Wellwood. I think it would be a shame if Wellwood was sent down in favor of Harry Z. Not that I don't like Harry, but I thought Wellwood was really playing well lately.

I think I'd rather see these lines. Swap Simmonds and Talbot and I think each of those lines gets better as a unit.

Talbot - Briere - Read
Wellwood - Schenn - Simmonds

I think Talbot is better suited to play with Briere than Simmonds, and still good enough in the corners to help Danny and Read. I think Talbot's play this year has shown he can pull his weight on a scoring line, and I have this crazy feeling that if we put Maxime and Danny together, Danny pots one or two tonight.

I think Simmonds, Schenn, and could wreak havoc on the cycle, play solid defense, and be suffocating if they stay aggressive. Simmonds style fits better on this line. He can hold his own with Briere - not saying he can't. I just like him better here. I think that could be a great line. I like what Wellwood has shown so far. I think Simmonds and Schenn have some chemistry. This line could be good.

Then again what do I know....

was larsson close enuf in talent to be drafted over RNH by EDM? I thought that the need was so great that the oilers missed out on a very special player while drafting another that was along the same lines of what the already had.

The Flyers roster page has been notoriously unreliable in terms of being correct in who is up and who is down this season.

Hopefully bc we been saying that for awhile now. He's due big time.

Excellent write up again Bill. I'm glad to see you acknowledged Briere needs to get going but I'm not glad it has come to this. He is our highest paid player and should be shouldering the load right there with Giroux. Maybe it is chemistry, but I just think elite players find ways to make things happen. I don't have any ill will toward the player nor do I take pleasure in this drought. Hopefully he breaks out and gets on a roll through the rest of the season and playoffs.

Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't the Flyers beat the Devils each time Bryzgalov started? Not that it would have mattered sunday because Bob did all he could and I don't think Bryz would have stopped all four goals maybe one or two at most but that wouldn't be enough to win either. With all the players coming back (keeping fingers crossed) that should breathe some life into the team and at least with Kimmo and Pavel back give the Flyers an equal defensive effort to at least get a point out of this. Wait eff that they need a win! Go Flyers!

Harry Z was an emergency call-up, so he was returned to Adirondack after Sunday's game. Wellwood is still with the team.
